Inside this week’s edition:
⏪️ R&B Rewind: Get It Together with this one!

📆 On This Day: We celebrate a legend.
🔥 Hot Take: Kids can be so cruel!

⏪️ R&B Rewind
🎶 Track: “Get It Together” – 702 (1997)
Before “Where My Girls At?” made them household names, 702 dropped this soulful, slow-burning groove off their debut album No Doubt.
Did you know?
Donell Jones not only produced this track—he also co-wrote it. It peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, but somehow still flew under the mainstream radar.
The Sleeper Remix:
We also had to include the “Get It Together (Bass Remix)”—a sleeper HEATER! It keeps the essence of the original but lays it over a Miami Bass-inspired production. Smooth meets thump.

📡 R&B Radar - KWN - Worst Behaviour
KWN slides in with a lowkey banger—“Worst Behaviour” is moody, melodic, and effortlessly smooth. Kehlani and KWN trade buttery vocals that melt right into the beat. This one’s a must-add to your more romantic playlists.
Fun Fact ✅
The video appears to be shot in one take—we didn’t catch a single cut. And if there are any… they’re hidden very well.

🗓️ On This Day: April 2nd, 1939
📆 On This Day — April 2nd, 1939
April 2 marks the birth of the legendary Marvin Gaye in 1939. Known for timeless hits like “What’s Going On” and “Sexual Healing” - Gaye’s influence on R&B and soul music is immeasurable. His work not only helped shape the Motown sound but also addressed critical social issues—leaving a lasting legacy in music history.
Today would have been his 86th birthday. Still missed. Forever celebrated.
We’ve included a Spotify link to his emotional, poetic, political, and timeless masterpiece: What’s Going On (1971).

🔥 R&B Hot Take - Knuck If You Wanna Be Startin Somethin’
I can’t make this up…
Over 20 years later, we allegedly know what really broke up Crime Mob—and it’s not what you’d expect. (In case you were wondering, lol.)
In a recent interview, Princess (from Crime Mob) confessed that when she and her brother were 16, she told fellow member Diamond that they saw Michael Jackson and his pet chimp Bubbles at Six Flags… and that MJ said he wanted to hop on “Knuck If You Buck.”
She even told her that Bubbles did the ad-libs. 😆
Diamond ran over to their house thinking MJ had dropped a verse—only to find out it was a complete joke. Feelings were hurt, trust was broken, and the group started to drift apart. (Princess has since apologized.)
The internet? In tears. 😭
While Diamond later blamed their split on bad business behind the scenes… I choose to believe the story above, lol.
Now, is this THAT crazy of an idea?
Michael Jackson has worked with rappers before: Heavy D, Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., and even a rumoured collab with LL Cool J.
